My wife’s family lives in central/west, Texas. Brownwood is far from everywhere. Ballinger is farther from everywhere, Lowake is outside of Rowena, which is outside of Ballinger. You got all that?
This year, 150 riders participated. People come from all over the U.S. to participate. The community is incredibly supportive and the atmosphere is so much fun. Seen here, Jacob Loos descends and climbs one of the few paved roads on route. Jacob would go on to complete the Arkansas High Country Race and the Tour Divide from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, NM later in the year. For some, the 400+ miles of the ETS are a warm-up. For others, it is the accomplishment of a lifetime.
